It was a joyous day on April 6 as poets from the Philadelphia area and as far away as Connecticut and New York City gathered at the Manayunk Art Center to celebrate two happy events--the twenty-sixth volume of the Schuylkill Valley Journal (the print edition) and the inauguration of SVJ LIT (the online editon).
As the photo shows, the reading was launched with a social hour of good food and drink, surrounded by the monthly show of the artists of the MAC.
Following party time, many of the poets and short story writers in the new issue read their work. Accompanied by Mark Wilhelm, SVJ LIT's information architect, I talked a bit about our new online magazine. We'll be featuring selected work from the print edition as well as work that will only appear online. The magazine will be morphing into new delights as we continue to develop our online presence, so check us out frequently at SVJLIT.com!
